We've come a long way from that original 1068 movie: 'The Planet of the Apes' starring Charlton Heston. Even that film cost $10 million to make which was big beer in the sixties. Then there was that TV series in the 70s with the slightly comical ape masks, a cartoon called Return to the Planet of the Apes and we are not even on to the Hollywood blockbusters which launched with the Planet of the Apes (2001).
